The Christmas season gives us so many reasons to be thankful and to count our blessings. At High West Energy, we are grateful for the continued generosity of our members.

This has been a challenging year for many in our community, and because of our members’ participation in the Operation Round Up® program, we are able to help those less fortunate.

What is Operation Round Up®? Imagine your electric bill is $198.75 this month. If you volunteer to participate in Operation Round Up®, you would round that amount up to the nearest dollar and pay $199. The extra money that our members contribute goes into a fund dedicated to supporting individuals, communities, and organizations in and around our co-op’s service area in times of loss or need.

A member’s donation of less than $1 per month helps neighbors struggling to recover from the impact of illness, economic hardship, fire, personal tragedy and more. And those small donations add up to make a real difference.

Since High West began the program in 2014, participating members have donated nearly $300,000! This year, more than 5,400 High West members have volunteered to participate, and that has yielded more than $40,000 in contributions to the fund.

Anyone can apply for assistance from this program, or you can contact us to refer someone else who might need help but doesn’t know about the program. All applications and referrals are confidential and filling out the form only takes a couple of minutes.

An individual or a family can receive up to $800. A local organization can receive up to $2,500. Applicants will be notified in writing regarding the outcome of their request.
