Rate Increase

High West Energy

2024 Rate Changes

After careful consideration, High West Energy finds it necessary to implement a rate increase for its members, effective March 1, 2024. Despite our diligent monitoring of the cooperative's spending, our meticulous distribution of funds, and the consistency in maintaining our rates since 2016, we find ourselves obligated to increase our rates. This decision is a direct result of the 6% rate increase we are receiving from our power supplier, Tri-State Generation and Transmission Association, as well as the many effects of inflation and the continued rising costs of industrial needs. We will increase our residential rates by 7.5% with an overall increase in revenue of 4.4% for the cooperative. Please see the rate breakdown for a summary of each rate class.

How Does This Affect Our Members?

This rate increase will impact all members and each rate class differently. Please see the link below for the complete rate increase summary.

We value your membership and are proud to serve you by providing safe, reliable, and competitively priced energy and services. Despite our best efforts to reduce costs within our operations and navigate the escalating prices in our industry, a rate increase is necessary to maintain the cooperative’s financial stability and enable us to deliver a reliable power supply to our members.

Please keep in mind that High West Energy provides resources, including rebates, for obtaining energy-efficient appliances and tools. Local organizations are also available to offer assistance if needed. We are more than willing to address any questions you may have if you would like to discuss the rate increase further. Please reach out to our office at 307-245-3261 or visit us in person, allowing us to meet face-to-face and address any concerns.
