High West Energy is committed to investing in the next generation of leaders. Through youth programs such as Youth Tour and Youth Energy Camp, students have the opportunity to develop leadership skills, explore career paths, build lasting friendships, and learn more about the cooperative difference. These experiences empower young people to grow, serve their communities, and prepare for future success.

Electric Cooperative Youth Tour

Travel to Washington, D.C., and join more than 1,800 students from across the country for the Electric Cooperative Youth Tour. Participants explore our nation's capital, visit historic landmarks and monuments, meet elected officials, and gain a better understanding of government, leadership, and the cooperative business model. The experience helps students build leadership skills, expand their horizons, and form lifelong friendships with peers from around the country.

NREA Youth Energy Camp

Each year, Nebraska Rural Electric Association hosts Youth Energy Leadership Camp at Camp Comeca in Cozad, Nebraska. Youth Energy Camp introduces students to the cooperative world through hands-on activities, leadership development, and team-building experiences. Students leave camp with new skills, lasting friendships, and a greater understanding of how electric cooperatives serve their communities.
