Upgrade to an energy-efficient electric water heater and enjoy reliable hot water while reducing energy consumption. Modern electric water heaters are designed to improve efficiency and lower operating costs, helping homeowners save energy throughout the year. This rebate is available for qualifying electric resistance water heaters and ENERGY STAR® certified electric heat pump water heaters.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • 30-gallon tank minimum
  • Electric resistance units must meet one of the following: 
    • Replacing propane or natural gas
    • New construction
  • Air Source Heat Pump water heaters must be Energy Star® rated

INCENTIVE OVERVIEW: 

Electric resistance water heater rebates:

  • $50/unit when replacing propane or natural gas water heater
  • $50/unit for demand-response capable or member-managed water heater
  • $30/unit for new construction

Heat Pump water heater rebate:

  • $350/unit for air source heat pump water heaters

Rebate Eligibility Checklist

Before making your purchase, ensure your upgrade meets our standard qualification criteria:

  • Cooperative Membership: You must be an active member of High West Energy.
  • Service Location: The appliance or equipment must be installed in a property actively served by High West Energy.
  • Energy Star Certification: The equipment must be ENERGY STAR® certified or meet qualifying model guidelines. 

  • 90-Day Window: You must notify us and submit your rebate request form within 90 days of the purchase date.
  • Proof of Purchase: You must provide a clear copy of the original receipt and documentation showing the item's model number.
  • Yellow Energy Guide: You must provide a copy of the Yellow Energy Guide for your appliance.
  • Replacements: If replacing, please provide photos of previous unit.
